We will provide contracting and employment opportunities to qualified local and Aboriginal businesses and individuals near the proposed project. Although the majority of opportunities will occur during the construction phase, we will also identify capacity within local communities for current (planning phase) and future opportunities.
In the planning phase, opportunities include environmental and engineering studies, land and survey services, helicopter support and specialized consulting activities.
In the construction phase, opportunities will include goods and services provided by specialty providers from Canada and globally. Non-specialized goods and services may be secured locally.
Coastal GasLink will meet with Aboriginal communities, business organizations and economic development agents near the project to identify capability and capacity of local businesses and to explain the qualification process and project requirements. Once capacity and capability are established, local businesses and individuals will be invited to bid on project work.
