Coastal GasLink is committed to creating an extraordinary legacy of safety and respect for all people, communities and the environment. As part of this commitment we are keeping our neighbours along the project route informed on construction activities happening near their community. Please note the following information:
What: Controlled blasting activities will begin in Section 3 along the Project right-of-way. All blasting activities will be done in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
When: Beginning on November 22, 2019, blasting will be conducted daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will continue until the end of February 2020 in some areas.
Where: Blasting activities will occur between KP 200 to 244 along the project right-of-way with the nearest community, Bear Lake, B.C., located approximately 25 kilometres south of this activity. Please see the map included as part of this notification.
Expected Duration: November 22, 2019 through to the end of February 2020. Depending on the location, blasting activity may occur one or more days during this 15-week timeframe.
Potential Impact: While there are no anticipated permanent road closures required as part of this activity, public access to this segment of the project right-of-way and a surrounding safety zone will be restricted during this period. There are no residences located within 150 metres of the area. This segment of the project right-of-way does intersect with Highway 97 and temporary restrictions to Highway 97 and local forestry roads may be required during blasting depending on the scope and location of work. It is not expected that these activities will result in any detectable sound or vibration beyond the immediate work area.
Questions regarding these activities or general project construction can be directed via email to email@example.com or by phone to 1-855-633-2011.
