Coastal GasLink is committed to creating an extraordinary legacy of safety and respect for all people, communities and the environment. As part of this commitment, we are keeping our neighbours along the project route informed on construction activities happening near their community. Please note the following information:
What: Open burning of vegetative matter such as non-merchantable trees, stumps, roots, shrubs, branches, and other debris from regulatory approved clearing activities.
When: Expected to begin as early as December 2, 2019, and last until February 29, 2020.
Where: This activity is planned for the following locations along the project route: KP 171 to 181, 201 to 212.35. Please see the map below.
Potential Impact: Permits and authorizations are in place and will be done in compliance with the B.C. Open Burning Smoke Control Regulation, Forest Fire Prevention and Suppression Regulation, and the Wildfire Regulation. Safety and fire prevention plans are in place. All burning activities will be done in accordance with the project’s Environmental Management Plan and will be carefully planned and monitored, including air quality and emissions.
