Want to know what’s happening along the right-of-way? We’ve shared our latest section-by-section November Construction Update.
Construction of the Coastal GasLink Project is currently focused on right-of-way clearing in Sections 1, 2, 3 and 8 with 14 per cent of the total route cleared to date. Rain and snow conditions are posing unfavorable conditions leading to clearing delays in some areas. In Section 8, a cable crane is under construction to assist with worker access and pipe installation along a steep section of the route, minimizing land disturbance in the surrounding mountainous terrain.
Despite weather challenges, several milestones were recently achieved including the opening of the Sukunka Lodge site in Section 2. Sukunka Lodge will house hundreds of workers in fall 2020 when pipeline installation will be in full swing.
The approximately 150 workers currently at this site have access to a gym, a lounge and 24-hour snack-bar in addition to cell service and wifi to keep in touch with loved ones. Looking ahead, pipe delivery is scheduled for December for Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8 stockpile sites.
