The Coastal GasLink engineering studies involve executing field programs to gather site information in support of Project planning and construction. Engineering field studies will collect information on bedrock contours, subsurface soil conditions, slope stability, watercourse characteristics and buoyancy requirements to inform routing, engineering design and construction techniques. Studies will also be conducted to assess potential hazards along the Project study corridor such as geo-hazards (e.g., fault lines) and the potential for acid rock drainage. Field programs will also be undertaken to identify potential borrow pit sites and access road requirements for construction.
