Through our Pathway to Pipeline Readiness program, a part of our education and training plan for northern British Columbia, we are investing in skills training for communities located along our proposed pipeline route. The TransCanada Carrier Sekani Award provides University of Northern British Columbia scholarships for individuals from Carrier Sekani Tribal Council member band nations. These include Burns Lake Band (Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nation), Nak’azdli Band, Nadleh Whut’en, Saik’uz First Nation, Stellat’en First Nation, Takla Lake First Nation, Tl’azt’en Nation and Wet’suwet’en First Nation. These awards, valued at $2500 per year/per student, are available to two students in each of the next three years, with preference given to students enrolled in natural resource-related programs. TransCanada is proud of our long-standing commitment to education and will continue to seek opportunities which help build stronger communities, a higher standard of living and a greater quality of life.
