Coastal GasLink donates $100,000 to United Way of Northern BC’s COVID-19 Relief Fund

Coastal GasLink is pleased to announce a $100,000 donation and partnership with United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) to support the increasing needs of those affected by COVID-19.

Statement — Coastal GasLink follows B.C. Ministry of Health’s guidance

At Coastal GasLink, we recognize the need for preventative measures to help slow down the spread of COVID-19. We continue to work closely with Northern Health and government officials in following all directives to ensure our people and the communities they work in are kept safe.

Winter construction completion

Over the past weeks, Coastal GasLink has been reducing our workforce numbers across northern British Columbia, to approximately 400 by the end of last week from 1,200 in February. During the week of March 30, the workforce ramp-down will conclude in advance of the spring thaw, as we have now completed our winter construction program.

March construction update

Our March Construction Update is now available. At a glance, 62% of the route was cleared by the end of February which also saw over 1,100 women and men working along the route during that month. As construction activities change and the size of our teams fluctuate, we will continue to primarily employ B.C. workers, with many coming from Indigenous communities.
