Coastal GasLink remains focused on engaging in constructive and meaningful dialogue as we progress preliminary construction in accordance with the permits and authorizations received from the Environmental Assessment Office and the B.C. Oil and Gas Commission.
There is unprecedented support for this important natural gas pipeline project from local and Indigenous communities along the route. Coastal GasLink will be built to meet the strictest environmental and safety standards in the world and will deliver significant, long-term benefits for Indigenous and northern B.C. communities along its path, the province and all of Canada. This critical infrastructure project will reduce global greenhouse gas emissions and improve the air that millions breathe by providing clean, natural gas that will displace coal used to generate electricity in Asia.
We are committed to continuing to work collaboratively with all communities and have a shared interest in ensuring the safety of people, protection of the environment, and the continued progress of this critical infrastructure project.
During the week of June 10, 2019, the B.C. Supreme Court will hold a hearing on Coastal GasLink’s application asking the court to continue the previously granted injunction. The continuance of the injunction will ensure continued safe and unimpeded access.
