Posted by

“TransCanada’s Coastal GasLink and Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project have donated $250,000 to PGNAETA, the Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment and Training Association (PGNAETA), which will support training and skills development programs for Aboriginal youth in B.C.

PGNAETA programs are aimed at building transferrable workplace skills that will help meet the future demands for skilled labour on energy projects including natural gas pipelines. The donation will support PGNAETA’s Aboriginal Gateway Training Centre by providing 48 Aboriginal students access to the 16-week skills upgrading program.

The announcement was made Aug. 6 at an event in Prince George.
