Update from CGL President Rick Gateman

Posted by Coastal GasLink

The actions in Northern British Columbia represent a challenging situation for everyone involved. We appreciate B.C. Premier Horgan’s comments about achieving a peaceful resolution. Our team continues to be open and responsive to engaging in respectful and meaningful dialogue that may resolve concerns about our project development plans.

As Premier Horgan noted, our fully approved and permitted project has the support of the communities and all 20 elected Indigenous bands along the route, as well as many hereditary chiefs. We are confident a positive solution can be achieved on this important project.

Coastal GasLink has undergone extensive environmental assessment, including consultations with First Nations in British Columbia. Development of our project will be conducted according to rigorous environmental standards, including the recognition of specific Indigenous values. Coastal GasLink is committed to continuing dialogue with all parties as we go about fulfilling our investment in delivering a world-class project, employment and economic benefits to British Columbia communities and First Nations.
