Coastal GasLink statement on NEB Jurisdiction Proceeding submission

Posted by Coastal GasLink

On Friday, Jan. 25, Coastal GasLink submitted additional evidence to the National Energy Board that supports our view that regulation of this approved and under construction pipeline should remain with the province of B.C. and its regulators.

CGL’s evidence reaffirms that this is a single-line natural gas pipeline located entirely within B.C., with the sole purpose of transporting natural gas within the province.

Coastal GasLink was fully approved and permitted following extensive consultation with communities and First Nations, and a rigorous multi-year review that considered potential environmental, economic, social, heritage and health effects.

We are confident the facts put before the NEB by CGL and the intervenors will support a strong case of continued provincial regulation of the pipeline.
