Coastal GasLink understands that in an effort to promote dialogue between the Hereditary Chiefs of the Office of the Wet’suwet’en and the federal and provincial governments, the RCMP has offered to conduct Morice River area policing from Houston instead of the Community Industry Safety Office at KP 29 of the Morice River Forestry Road.
Coastal GasLink supports the RCMP’s proposal to conduct policing operations from Houston provided Coastal GasLink contractors and staff continue to have safe and secure access to work sites in the Morice River area.
Coastal GasLink continues to seek a negotiated resolution to the issues outlined by the Hereditary Chiefs and continues to provide long-lasting benefits to the Wet’suwet’en people.
