Wilde Lake Compressor Station surpasses 80 per cent completion
As spring break-up continues, the overall construction completion of the Wilde Lake Compressor Station has surpassed 80 per cent for overall construction, including off-site fabrication and field construction. Spring break-up is the time of year when field construction work is reduced due to soft ground conditions caused by melting snow and thawing. Typically, the Project’s workforce is reduced during this period between April and June. Crews working on the completion of the Wilde Lake Compressor Station have remained focused on progressing hydrotesting, backfilling and electrical and instrumentation installation.
O.J. Pipelines partners with three Indigenous-led companies to build Section 7
O.J. Pipelines – one of Canada’s largest pipeline contractors, has partnered with three local Indigenous communities along the project route to build Section 7 of Coastal GasLink. This marks the third Indigenous collaboration responsible for major pipeline construction. The collaboration between O.J. Pipelines, Natanlii Development Corporation (Skin Tyee Nation), Yinka Dene Economic Development Limited Partnership (Wet’suwet’en First Nation) and Kyah Development Corporation (Witset First Nation) leverages each Nations’ deep knowledge and commitment to the land while ensuring the Nations meaningfully participate and benefit from the opportunities occurring in their territories.
From pipeline concept, construction and operation, our respect for the land, culture and community guides all our decisions at Coastal GasLink. These partnerships not only demonstrate the importance of working together towards economic prosperity, but also our commitment to Indigenous reconciliation.

Major milestone achieved for Coastal GasLink: 100% pipeline completion on two of eight sections
It has been an exciting start to the 2022 construction season, as Coastal GasLink marks two of eight section completions along the 670-kilometre route. Both Section 1, west of Dawson Creek and Section 4, north of Prince George, have achieved 100% pipe installation.
Coastal GasLink has always been about more than building a pipeline. It is about creating a legacy and placing our values at the forefront of everything we do. From the dedicated workforce to our contractors and Indigenous partners, each has had a hand in safely delivering these sections to completion while meeting the highest environmental and safety performance standards. The work to assemble the pipeline in these sections was undertaken under the guidance of our prime contractors, Surerus Murphy in Section 1 and SA Energy in Section 4. We look forward to marking many more significant milestones as we continue to advance construction on the project.
